If you have questions about Project Purpose, please contact our Humane Education team at 952-435-7738 or send us an email.

Kids ages 12-15 are invited to participate in Animal Humane Society’s newest education program: Project Purpose! This program will help children gain a deeper understanding of the work AHS does through hands-on activities and learning. Additionally, Project Purpose can be used to fulfill school or club community service requirements.

This educational program will involve a presentation, a behind-the-scenes tour, meaningful service projects unique to AHS, and more! Each child will participate in keeping the shelter and animal habitats clean and comfortable while making new friends and learning more about shelter life.

Project Purpose is three hours and the cost is $40. Snacks will be provided.

Children must wear wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing that can get dirty. Because this program is focused on community service projects, participants should not expect significant animal contact as part of the program.

Project Purpose is currently available at our Golden Valley location and will expand to Coon Rapids and Woodbury in 2018.

Program dates:

  • Saturday, September 9, 1-4 p.m.
  • Sunday, September 24, 1-4 p.m.
