Millie

Millie

I had been wanting a pet for a while so with my boyfriend in tow, we headed out to the Golden Valley Animal Humane Society. My intent on that day in September was to look at cats. I wandered in to the dog area first to just talk a peek. We came upon a tiny bichon/poodle mix who was kenneled next to a giant boxer and she looked terrified! I just had to hold this tiny girl.

I instantly fell in love. I was told "Laurie" (now Millie) had some jaw and teeth issues as a result of being a rescue from a puppy mill. I had to have her anyway and I took her home that day. About a week later we went to the vet for a checkup and I found out just how bad her teeth issues were. The doctor told me that Millie had a tape worm and needed to have 18 teeth pulled!

After getting some shots, pills for the tape worm, and getting all those teeth pulled, Millie is a whole new dog. She went from being scared and in constant pain to being happy and healthy and has fully adjusted to her new loving and protective life.
