My Daughter and I volunteer at AHS. We have 2 dogs and never for a moment did I want another pet at home-we just like animals and want to be with them! That is until I met Chester! I took him into a visitation room to play with him and he gave me an unusual amount of "kitty love" and he wouldn't get down off my lap at all-he just kept rubbing his face all over mine and purring! I didn't want to put him back and I couldn't stop thinking about him!!
I brought my other daughter there the next day to show her "this really nice cat" that I wanted her to adopt so I could visit him! She already has a cat and didn't want another. The next day, we went to volunteer on our day off just so we could see Chester again! While there, a couple visited with him and we were scared that they would take him as soon as they saw how nice he was! That's when I realized that I really wanted him and I went right up to the counter and put a hold on him before anyone else could.
We love him so much and he gives us so much love-we can't imagine our house without him! Adopting him has even helped my volunteering now that I have experienced first hand the joy of adopting a pet you didn't even think you would ever own! I am always suggesting these wonderful, loving adult cats to people and sharing my story with them!
