Biscuit

My boyfriend and I have always loved dogs. When I finally moved into a house with a yard we started the search for our new friend. We looked at numerous adoption websites and were frequent visitors at the local shelter. We were confident that when we saw our dog we would just know. About two weeks after our search started I went to the Golden Valley Animal Humane Society to look at an 8-week-old Shepherd mix, but by the time I got there she had already found a new home. Unsure that I wanted anything but an 8-10 week old pup I ventured to the kennels with the bigger dogs. As I walked down the row of kennels all the dogs barked at me with excitement… except for one.  Sitting with his nose pressed against the gate, his tale wagging like crazy sat a 4-month-old collie mix. As I knelt down to see him with one hand on the gate he set his paw right on my hand, and tilted his head to one side, as if he was saying “Hey, I’m ready to come home now.”  I just knew he was the dog we had been looking for. I could have never imagined finding a more loving and happy dog, he is the perfect addition to our life!
