DO NOT CHASE!! REWARD IF FOUND!! Maverick is a small Cavalier King Spaniels mix dog. He is 17-18lbs and 2 years old. He was just recently adopted and only been in his new home for seven days. He is a PUPPY MILL SURVIVOR - DO NOT CHASE!!! He is dog friendly. He knows his name ("Maverick" or "Mavi"). He got out the garage door Sunday 1/20 at 8am. The dad followed/chased him behind 10 or so houses before Mavi took off across the LARGE marsh that is behind a lot of houses. The family searched all day Sunday and posted flyers. Sunday at 1:30pm, a guy spotted him in his backyard on 93rd off Lawndale. The guy chased him - thinking it was his neighbor's dog. Mavi ran towards the townhouses off County Rd 30 and Peony. The family did leave dog food, chicken, and a dog blanket on their door step. (I checked this morning - but it didn't look like it had been touched) Monday 1/21 - More volunteers were out searching. Abby (one of the admins on this page) followed the same path Mavi did (walking through the marsh). I did find small dog tracks through it as well as on a frozen stream - no humans prints were anywhere near by (until mine came through). I followed them as much as I could until I lost the trail when the marsh got thicker with the grass - I trudged through and came up on 96th. I found more prints in the grasses behind the townhouses. No more sightings as of 1:30pm Sunday afternoon. Flyers are posted in most (if not all) the areas around this spot. PUPS (impound in Maple Grove) has been notified - as well as Animal Control Maverick is MICROCHIPPED and has TAGS on his collar.
