Part of our work at Animal Humane Society involves being a strong voice for all animals, large and small. Our staff includes the only two full-time professional humane agents that cover the entire state of Minnesota assisting law enforcement with the investigation and the enforcement of Minnesota's animal welfare statutes. They receive thousands of calls for service each year, the majority of which involve lack of food, water and shelter. However, larger, more complex cases are conducted resulting in on-site investigations, animal seizure and prosecuting offenders.
In addition, we often conduct training presentations and workshops for the humane enforcement industry, academic institutions, and community associations across the state of Minnesota.
For assistance with an investigation, please contact our humane agents. They investigate complaints across Minnesota. Complaints and the names of complainants are kept confidential. We must have proper evidence and/or witnesses to successfully build a case for seizure and/or prosecution.
