Gizmo's Success Story

Gizmo's Success Story

It was Halloween and Kasey went to the Animal Humane Society to “just look” at the cats and kittens. Well, we all know what happens when we go to “just look.” While all the others kittens were sleeping, one kept batting at Kasey with his paw. She opened his cage and he immediately crawled up her arm and curled up in a little ball on her shoulder. She felt an instant connection and at that moment realized that Gizmo picked her.

When Kasey adopted Gizmo, she had no clue the animal she was bringing home would be more like a dog than a cat! He loves to get his harness on and go play outside and chase bugs. He also loves to climb trees and when he occasionally gets stuck, Kasey is there to help him out. Gizmo also has quite an appetite. He loves to eat people food; his favorite treat is ice ream bars!

Mornings at Kasey’s house are much more interesting now that Gizmo is part of the family. He has taken on the role of the alarm clock. He wakes up each morning at 5 a.m. and makes sure someone else is awake by nuzzling their face or nibbling on their nose. Gizmo then leads them to the food dish and requests that it be filled up. If there is food in it already, they have to add a little more just to appease him.

Kasey and her family love their dog-like cat. Whether they’re taking him on walks, going for car rides, or having an ice cream snack, they have so much fun with Gizmo and can’t imagine life without him.
